Text or Email Notifications

RainedOut is a FREE service and will allow staff to deliver urgent alerts via a text message or email notifying users of aqua or fitness class closures and/or delays. Staff will send out the alert text before updating the rainout line.*

Sign up via your cell phone or computer

You will not receive any spam or unsolicited content - all messages will be sent from Overland Park's fitness personnel.

  • Computer

  1. Go to www.rainedout.com
  2. If "Overland Park Fitness" if it's not displayed, search for it.
  3. Enter your 10-digit PHONE or EMAIL address. (both can be registered, but not in the same window)
  4. Accept Terms of Service, select "Start Signup" button.
  5. The website will generate a validation code which will be sent to either your cell or email depending on which is being registered.
  6. Use this validation code to finalize registration.
  7. Select the group(s) you want to receive alerts.
    1. MRCC Aqua Classes - OPAQUA
    2. TRCC & MRCC Fitness Classes - OPFIT

  • Cell Phone 

  1. Dial 84483 and text in one of the keywords:
    1. MRCC Aqua Classes - OPAQUA
    2. TRCC & MRCC Fitness Classes - OPFIT

After sending the message you will receive a confirmation text that you are signed up.

Standard text message charges may apply from your wireless provider, depending on your text message plan.

Troubleshooting

Q. I'm not getting a validation code, or not receiving messages...what am I doing wrong?

A. If you or any of your members are not receiving messages, you'll want to call your cell phone carrier and ask them to enable short code SMS messaging on your phone. Notify the person that you are trying to receive messages from 84483.
