Make sure you drive safely in Overland Park, especially at top accident locations in the city.

The top 2010 accident locations for the city have been posted to Overland Park's Web site. 2011 accident data will be available in June.

Friday is the most likely day for a vehicle accident, and 3 to 6 p.m. is the most common time when accidents occur.

The top five locations are:

• Quivira at 106th Street, which recorded 35 accidents
• 75th and Metcalf, 31 accidents
• College and Quivira, 29 accidents
• 119th and Nall, 28 accidents and
• Quivira and 103rd Street, 27 accidents

Two of the intersections from the top 10 list will be under going significant improvements this year. Overland Park has begun the project to widen Quivira from four to six lanes from I-435 north to 99th Street.

Information gleaned from high accident locations is used to increase safety and traffic enforcement.
